Bitcast: Episode 76 - How to Survive a Robot Uprising
Written by theBBPS

Dan wasn't able to make it to this week's show, but I feel like we've assembled a pretty reasonable replacement.  Expect a slightly different format as we jump around a little from segment to segment.  Lots of good stuff in there this week, so let's crack open the head of BitCast 76 and feed on it's gooey insides!

This week we talk about:

  • What'cha Been Playing (Start - 6:03)
  • Interview: David Nathaniels of Vicarious Visions talks Guitar Hero 5 on the Wii (6:04 - 23:14)
  • Rant: Batman will make you lose your damned mind (23:15 - 29:03)
  • Interview: Daniel Lloyd celebrates the Dreamcast's 10th birthday in style (29:04 - End)
Links we talk about during the show;

Music we used;
MusicOfFunk by Stephen Kennedy (a Batman NES remix)
Bette Davis Eyes by Beta Club Field Trip (chiptunes by our own Daniel Lloyd)
Still Alive - GLaDOS & Jonathan Coulton (Portal end credits)

BitCast: Episode 75 - We're Back!
Written by theBBPS
Friday, 14 August 2009 08:03

zOMG a new BBPS Bitcast!!!11!1!

That's right kiddies, you're favorite show is back from the dead and on the air!  We're like The New WKRP, only with less Howard Hesseman and more Gordon Jump.

It's been awhile since we did one of these, so pardon the awkward sounds of our getting re-acquainted with podcasting.

This week we talk about:

  • Where We've Been/A Glimpse Behind the Scenes (Start - 16:15)
  • What'cha Been Playing (16:16 - 35:20)
  • The Rebirth of Adventure Games (35:21 - 46:48)
  • The Death of Music Games (46:49 - 1:08:40)
  • Hidden track/On the Merits of Mullets (1:08:41 - End)
We're slowing rebuilding the show, so expect links to a new Skype voicemail box and other fun stuff soon.  We're also experimenting with the idea of an enhanced podcast, but that would mean making the show unlistenable to those with iTunes and/or an iPod.  What do you think?  If we created a separate bitcast feed in iTunes to offer an enhanced podcast in addition to the regular one, would you listen?

Like I said -- we're rebuilding.  If you have any ideas or suggestions of what you'd like to hear on the show, please let us know!

This week on the show we briefly talk about Ben There, Dan That.  It's absolutely free, so I wanted to make sure to include a link so you can all check it out.  Jim's review of it can be found on Gamezebo (the traitor!)

BitCast: Episode 74 - A Quick One, While He Goes Away

I know it's been a while since our last episode but here's a shorty with a few quick audio reviews from Jimmy, Dan and myself. Jim gets his guts twisted in Madworld, Dan flip(per)s for Zen Pinball and I debate just how powerful a spell Sacred 2 casted on me.

Also, this will be the last BitCast that I produce for this site. It's time for me to move on kids. There are some other things in real life pulling me away right now. It's nothing worrying but I just need to concentrate my energy on some more important things for the time being. I may very well pop up from time to time around here but it has been a blast being a part of this little gaming blog. I was there at the beginning when Dan was launching it and I was one of the only other contributors so it makes me happy to know that so many people enjoy coming here these days. You can still feel free to reach me on Xbox Live, Steam or PSN if you so choose. Harpua Scorpio for XBL and HarpuaScorpio for the other two (note the space). So let me say a huge THANK YOU to Dan for starting and nurturing this baby as well as giving me a chance to write for him. To Jimmy for keeping this baby running and providing countless hours of entertainment while recording the BitCast. To Xav, Ryan and Grim for being a big part of helping the BitCast in its infancy. I say good luck to all the new guys and gals that have come along recently. You're a talented bunch, keep up the good work. Lastly to the readers, especially those who have been around a while. You all made taking the time to provide content very much worth it, even if we were arguing in the comments. Hell, those were the best of times.

PEACE OUT BITCHES!

BitCast: Episode 72 - FunSpot Invasion

A couple of weeks ago a bunch of us (picutred above) journied from pretty much all over North America to Laconia, NH to visit the legendary arcade The Funspot and help Dan celebrate his departure from Bachelor-ness. Wanting to seize the opportunity of having all of us in the same room at the same time I lugged a bunch of equipment up there to record some stuff for everyone to enjoy. We mainly just chat about the time we had just spent at The Funspot but it was a blast being able to look at each other and speak like we were having a real conversation.

If you'd like to leave us some feedback or ask us a question, drop one in the comments for this episode or email us at thebbps (at) gmail (dot) com. As always you can also drop me a voicemail on Skype at kevin-alexander so until next week, thanks for checking out the show!

BitCast: Episode 71 - Better Late Than Never
Written by Kevin Alexander
Saturday, 11 April 2009 10:19

Yet more scheduling and technical conflicts eventually forced me to trap Dan and Rich in my basement late last night so that we could get a show done. I also wanted to test my equipment that I'll be taking with me in a couple weeks when we have a whole bunch of us in the same room together for the first time ever. Should be interesting.

We didn't really have a main topic this week so we chat up What'cha Been Playing the whole time touching on a couple other things along the way.

If you'd like to leave us some feedback or ask us a question, drop one in the comments for this episode or email us at thebbps (at) gmail (dot) com. As always you can also drop me a voicemail on Skype at kevin-alexander so until next week, thanks for checking out the show!

BitCast: Episode 70

Well after some scheduling conflicts (what else is new, right?) we're back to the "old" crew for this week's show as Dan, Ryan and I sit around and mope about our current lack of enthusiasm for gaming. Don't worry though, it's not all doom and gloom!

This week we don't care about:

  • What'cha Been Playing...or Not (Start - 29:25)
  • Budgeting Your "Offseason" Gaming Time (29:38 - 42:22)
  • One Last Thing (42:23 - End)
If you'd like to leave us some feedback or ask us a question, drop one in the comments for this episode or email us at thebbps (at) gmail (dot) com. As always you can also drop me a voicemail on Skype at kevin-alexander so until next week, thanks for checking out the show!

The Bitcast is back in iTunes!
Written by Dan Zuccarelli

Yay! We're back on iTunes after a 2 week dustup that left us inbetween feeds and a bit out of sorts. The disaster that iTunes is means that we not only had to change our feed though, but also I can't shut down the old one and make it go away since the RSS feeds that feeds it doesn't exist anymore. Seems iTunes doesn't really have anything in place to edit or modify that stuff after the fact, thanks guys.

But I digress.

Please won't you resubscribe to our new iTunes feed? We promise this one won't be going anywhere, I'm doing the XML by hand now to get the specifics I want.... I'm done relying on some system to do it for me.

But I digress... again.

Click here and subscribe! And while you're there leave us a nice 5 star review!

BitCast: Episode 69 - Huh-huh, Huh-huh. Sixty Nine.

BitCast 69

This week I find myself in unfamiliar territory as I'm surrounded by almost all entirely new voices: Grim, Peachey and Jimmy Fallon's favorite BBPS blogger Daniel Lloyd join me for their first BitCast. (Technically, Grim's been on before but it's been so long his BitCast virginity grew back). For the most part I kind of hang back and let these fellas do their thing and I think the results turned out pretty good.

The new guys pop their cherries talking 'bout:

  • What'cha Been Playing (Start - 37:32)
  • Japanese vs. Western Developers and Design (37:52 - 1:01:54)
  • One Last Thing (1:01:55 - End)
If you'd like to leave us some feedback or ask us a question, drop one in the comments for this episode or email us at thebbps (at) gmail (dot) com. As always you can also drop me a voicemail on Skype at kevin-alexander so until next week, thanks for checking out the show!

Send Your Emails! Have Your Questions and Comments Read On A Future BitCast!
Written by Kevin Alexander

bitcast-listener-feedback

Listen, I wanna hear from you all. I NEED to hear from you all. You, the audience, the readers, the beautiful gaming fans that keep us doing what we do have a voice. You have opinions. You have questions. You are wonderful people with curious minds.

Share them with us!

If there's something you've always wanted to hear us talk about on the BitCast or a comment you'd like to send us whip up an email and send it off to thebbps (at) gmail (dot) com! If you do I can guarantee that a real, live person will see it (like Dan, Jimmy or myself) and we WILL read it.

Ask us anything gaming related. If you don't have any questions but you've always wanted to let us know what you do or don't like about the show now's the time to tell us! We'll take your emails and read them on the show for everyone to hear.

Hopefully this will be an on-going feature that will enhance the show but it will only work if you take a minute or two to shoot us an email. No gaming topic if too taboo or unwanted, we'll talk about damn near anything. You can send your emails any time but keep in mind that we usually record the show on Sunday or Monday night to post on Tuesday.

Make us proud, BBPS Community!
