BitCast: Episode 65 - Serious BitCast Is Serious
Written by Kevin Alexander

BitCast: Episode 65

This week we take on a couple of topics that emerged from the Game Business Law Summit that was held on Wednesday of last week at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. First GameStop's Chief Marketing Officer Mike Hogan defended his company's practices during a Q&A and then Jason Holtman, Director Of Business Development and Legal Affairs for Valve talked about the company's business model for Steam and tackled some of the negative PC gaming myths that loom over the platform.

It's serious shit all up in this show.

This week we're not kidding about:

  • What'cha Been Playing? (Dan's PC Rebuild, WoW, Crysis, Prince Of Persia Classic)
  • Is Trading In Games Actually Good For The Industry? (28:10) Story Link
  • Break (49:12)
  • Valve vs. Negative PC Gaming Myths (49:30) Story Link
  • One Last Thing... (1:08:58)

BitCast Episode 64

It's a new day for the BitCast. We're trying to re-focus the show to add some better content and more of it in roughly the same amount of time. This week was our first attempt at this and I have to say that I think it works out pretty darn well, but you'll be the judge of that.

Dan, Ryan and I gather 'round this week, bust out our astronomy charts and crystal balls to see into the next twelve months and what's going to happen in our beloved industry. Of course, we can't see everything and we want to hear from you. What do you think is going to happen? Let us know in the comments below!

This week we're pretty predictable:

  • What'cha Been Playing? (GeoWars 2, Prince Of Persia, Mirror's Edge, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Resistance 2 and a spoiler-rific discussion on the ending of MGS 4)
  • Is Sony's Home Really The Worst Idea Ever? (41:20)
  • Break (51:25)
  • Our 2009 Gaming Predictions (52:18)
  • Welcome Noobs! (1:11:09)
  • One Last Thing... (1:12:55)

BitCast: Episode 63 - The New Year

BitCast: Episode 63 - The New Year

Look at that, it's only six days into the new year and we already have a brand-spankin' new episode of the BitCast ready to greet you!

When we were putting together our year-end lists we knew we were challenging ourselves by only naming our Top 5 games. Of course that means that there were a bunch of great games left in the dust, totally ignored. Thankfully the BitCast is here to save them, bring them forth from the ashes and help them rise above the flames of rejection.

So yeah, we talk about our other favorite games of the year. Also, listen closely for a tiny little giveaway that is somewhere in the show. I mention emailing me so you'll need my address which is my Xbox Live gamertag (without the space) at gmail dot com. If you don't know my gamertag you can easily find it here on the site...somewhere. Good luck!

This week we get all 'Old Lang Syne' about:

  • What'cha Been Playing?
  • Our Other Favorites of 2008 (Starts at 44:15)

This Week’s BitCast Music:

Title: The New Year

Artist: Death Cab For Cutie

Album: Transatlanticism

This is it, this is our last live-talkin' show of the year and to help celebrate the occasion I trapped two of my best friends in my basement and made them talk about games and stuff. Good times.

This week we get all chatty about:

BitCast: Episode 60 - World Of BitCast
Written by Kevin Alexander
Tuesday, 25 November 2008 07:54

This week we were excited to invite a couple of loyal readers, friends and guild mates on to the show: Scott "Xerxes3rd" Rising and Tim "Swiftwulf" Conway! With the launch of the recent World Of Warcraft expansion we thought now would be a good time (ahem, tim) to bring them on and have a chat about our favorite MMO. Big thanks go out to them for taking the time to be on the show!

This week we geek out on:

  • WoW
  • World Of Warcraft
  • A very popular MMO

A Couple Of Notes:

  • We had some last minute technical difficulties and we had to record the show in a way that yielded a lower quality than we usually provide to everyone. Our apologies on that front.
  • Check out the post that brought Scott to our site.
  • Though we never actually mention it you can find our guild on the Lothar server and here on the web.

This Week’s BitCast Music:

Selections from the World Of Warcraft soundtrack by Jason Hayes.
