For the past few weeks I've gotten super lazy about playing games, for a variety of reasons really. Weekend trips, house hunting, etc. Not to mention that there's not much being released at the moment that I'm excited about. Though Prof. Layton will change that!

I tried Shadow Complex, and despite being a huge Castlevania and Metroid fan I just couldn't get into it. Tried the demo 2 different times, no dice. I still think it's $5 too much. I've been going through past DLC games on both the 360 and the PS3 and have enjoyed everything from Ticket to Ride on the Xbox to Zen Pinball on the PS3. It's been a nice diversion and has offered me the bite sized chunks I'm looking for in my console playing for the time being.

I only have short spurts to play on the consoles largely on account of the fact that I've been playing a TON of World of Warcraft. Like, A TON. Mostly running around and killing stuff with friends, but just this past weekend my wife decided she wanted to play it so after setting ourselves up on Blizzard's "refer-a-friend" program we've been enjoying that. I'm quite excited because it just gives us yet another thing we can do together, and gives us an excuse to stay in on the weekends to save money (in reference to my mention of "house hunting" in the 1st paragraph.

I've also been playing lots of boardgames lately (more to come on that in the near future)

So, what have YOU been playing?

ive been mainly playing burnout paradise which i bought on my 360 a week ago, mainly to fill the gap between now and the sweet games at the end of next month. i never realy got into paradise when it was first released, like a year ago. but now i see what the fuss is about, its great fun ^^. now im just gonna grind through it until operation flashpoint comes out.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Shadow Complex. Arkham is starting to grow on me a little more than it did at first -- just had two boss fights back to back (Scarecrow and Bane) and realized how much more fun this game would have been had they just made it a series of boss fights like Shadow of the Colossus.

Speaking of boardgames, my wife dug an old box of 221B Baker St. out of the garage this past week, purchased in London in the mid-80s. It would probably be a collector's item if it wasn't so beat-up. Plays a little like Clue, but for smart people.

Currently on a l4d binge, coupled with some trials HD (Which is so hard but so awesome), and i'm anticipating getting some shadow complex love over the long weekend.

Battlefield 1943 and Shadow Complex. Bothe totally awesome games with tons of replayability. Well worth the price.
