SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1, featuring a few great early Neo Geo games, came out in the middle of 2008. I was hoping there would be a second compilation, but as time passed, my hope diminished. But now it seems like SNK are creating a collection of their pre-Neo Geo games (Athena, IkariWarriors). They just keep making worse and worse decisions. In protest to this "prequel", I've created a list of games that should have been on SNK Arcade Classics Volume 2.
Hit the link for the list.
Note: Since this is a hypothetical list, anything goes - If it was on the Neo Geo, it's fair game.
1. Shock Troopers 2nd Squad
Shock Troopers was probably the best game on SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, so I always wondered about it's sequel. I heard that a bowling alley nearby had it, but of course when I got there, they had gotten rid of it. I finally played Shock Troopers 2 this summer and it's just as good as the original. More or less an overhead Metal Slug, there's tons of flame-throwing, tank-exploding action in this game.
2. Rage of the Dragons
Rage of the Dragons is a tag-team 2D fighter created by Evoga and Noise Factory. Being released very late in the Neo Geo's life (2002), the graphics look incredible. Even the fighting and combo engines seem better than average. Due to the relative lack of 2D fighters on the market, I'd love to be able to try out this Double Dragon homage.
3. Sengoku 3
In my opinion, Sengoku 1 and 2 suck. They're stiff, ugly, and boring. But when I played Sengoku 3, I was blown away. Everything that was wrong with the first two games was corrected. The sprites are detailed and colorful, the art direction is great, and the combo moves are fun to perform. To put it simply, Sengoku 3 is one of the best beat 'em ups around.
4. Ninja Commando
Ninja Commando is pretty much Shock Troopers but with ninjas, which makes it automatically awesome. Instead of shooting bullets, you'll be shooting fireballs out of your hands and transforming into flaming birds to take down your enemies.
5. Windjammers
Windjammers plays like Pong, but uses beefcakes and frisbees instead of a paddle and ball. You throw the bouncy frisbee and try to make it reach the other side of the court, usually by banking it off the wall. It sounds lame on paper, but you'll be instantly addicted.

I remember that game, I played it years ago and loved it, it ate quite abit of my spare change. I just couldn't remember the name of it. Thank you. Now I just need it to come out on a compilation pack now.
All of these are incredibly fun and engaging Neo titles. Out of them, I actually owned Sengoku 3..I think I purchased it for "only" $349 shortly after its release. Ah, the good ol days of disposable income and wreckless spending.
