Today in Japan, SNK Playmore will release twelve games. Suck on that EA and Activision. On the slightly less awesome side, all these games are re-releases of PS2 arcade ports. But hey, they come in some of the classiest packaging I've ever seen.

As attractive as these box sets are, the word "Complete" is quite misleading. First of all, if it was complete, why would it come in two separate volumes? Also, where are all the Metal Slug ports or the ADK collection? You've failed me again, SNK Playmore.

With that out of the way, the box sets do come with some great games. Most of the Fatal Fury games are in Volume 1, as are a few Samurai Spirits (AKA Samurai Showdown) titles and the SunSoft Collection, which contains Galaxy Fight (meh) and Waku Waku 7 (woo!).

King of Fighters '95 to 2001 are found in Volume 2. You'll also find World Heroes Gorgeous, which in itself contains four World Heroes titles. Fūun Super Combo contains Savage Reign and it's excellent sequel Kizuna Encounter. And topping it all off is Last Blade 1 and 2.
Are the two box sets worth buying? If you just want to play the games, then no. Most of the titles in these collections can be found in SNK Playmore's budget title compilations, which you can get for about $10 each. For a collector, though, if you don't have the bills to have these on MVS or AES carts, the box sets are probably the closest you'll get in terms of collectability.
