I've never ordered anything from 6dollarshirts.com, but I'm intrigued by both their prices AND their designs. I think I might be placing an order sooner rather than later!
I realize there's a backlash brewing against zombies, but pound for pound they're still my favorite monster. Fuck vampires (at least as long as Twilight is around).
One of my old friends once said "You were born to be digital." This was in reference to her opinion that no matter what game or what console it was on, my in-game avatars always looked exactly like me. So of the two pictures above, one was taken right before this was posted, and the other, my Xbox 360 avatar. After the jump you can see a selection of avatars from various consoles. Which one looks the best? Do my avatars look like me more than Jim's look like him?
I'd make some tired joke about how we ladies could finally get our boytoys to use a damn coaster with these things...but as I'm looking at the ash-and-diet-Slice rings on my glass table (encrusted with everything from pot stems to splatters of Dinty beef stew) I realize I'm no one to talk. So instead, I will say, wouldn't you love to buy a set of coasters for a blogger in need? Only $10 a set!
Glitch art is like the German food of the art world. It's never any good, and on that rare occasion when it is, it was probably by accident. All the same, I'm particularly drawn to these two, probably because of the colors. Have you seen any good glitch art?
This Saturday, Boston-area game retailer, Game Universe closed its doors for good.
Last month, I reported on John Keough's violent rampage. The Game Unicon co-organizer coerced Game Universe into loaning resources to help put on the convention with a promise to repay the store. As it turned out though, Keough was a compulsive liar who eventually ended up in a police stand-off.
Details on Keough's court date have been virtually non-existent, but I can confirm that Game Universe has closed. They are hoping to cut their losses by selling the remainder of their inventory (of which there is plenty) over the Internet.
Thirteen years ago, a Japanese RPG called Revelations: Persona hit the western market. While quality game design was apparent, the abysmal localization sabotaged the first installment in Atlus' Persona series. Fortunately, the three follow-ups featured top-notch localization. But if you've still been wondering about the series' origins, you can finally explore the original Persona and experience a cohesive narrative. But localization isn't everything, of course. Does the PSP remake of Persona warrant the update, or is this just a chance for Atlus to cash in on their most popular series in the west?
Oh, Street Fighter IV, how I love thee. Even after almost a year of being on shelves, the love continues, as I still play the game regularly and actively anticipate next years Super SFIV. With new characters, stages, and game modes (including Bonus Stages! Prepare to die, cars!) being inevitable, it's hard not to be excited. Those of you criticizing Capcom with chants of "This should've been DLC!" can shut it. It's going to rule.
Destructoid has a very in-depth look at what they know is new (so far) and this included video, which despite being in Japanese, gets my fingers quarter-circling out of habit. I can has 2010 now?
